Rome Part 2: Getting to the Sistine Chapel

You will notice I said "getting to" the Sistine Chapel. The Chapel itself, so well known for its amazing ceilings painted with Old Testament stories by Michelangelo, is miles from the entrance, but signs directing you to it keep you going through gallery after gallery, even when your feet are killing you and  you feel ready to drop. The museum begins with uncountable statues from Rome in its glory years.

This represents the Nile. There is a crocodile playing with small children on the left, and a Sphynx on the right.
This is called "Wounded Amazon" but we couldn't figure out where the wound was.

The ceiling in this hall was a amazing as it was long! And really packed with people.

I am sorry that you cannot see what we saw in the Sistine Chapel. No one was allowed to photograph in there. It was relatively small packed with people and beautiful! Worth the walk? Probably was.
