Well, it has been a long and hectic four months, and the last couple week included several guests and a Christar retreat, which we were in charge of. Soooo, we are going to take four days off and go up the Xavier Estates and stay in one of their little rooms with a balcony overlooking a valley. The other prerequisite for our room was two comfortable reading chairs, which these rooms also have. We plan to be back Friday afternoon.
There is a new restaurant up near the place we are staying, called Phileas Fogg, run by a couple Brits married to Filipinas. They serve good, reasonably priced food and have an "Around the World" menu. When we went there the first time, the place had four British gentlemen there in the outside eating area. All looked like they, with suitable costumes, could have stepped out of Picwick Papers. A couple of them had the cockney accent I have read so much and don't t hink I had really heard... Sumfin to fink abou'! Sound a bit like the Moles in Redwall! When we sat down at a table to wait for our order, they asked if they could join us and three of them plunked down with their beers for a nice chat. So we will get to know them better this week, I imagine.
