We now have two new members of our doggy family, Boss and Houston. The Hohulin family asked us to take care of their family pets, but we only took the two dogs, not the hamster, guinea pig, parakeets, love birds, lorry parrots, the talking myna bird, the cats, the daschund or the rottweiler. Houston is an older dog, a brown doberman, six years old. He has a hormone problem and is overweight even though he eats very little, and has some tumors, so he may not live a long time. He has a big body and a small head, and sleeps a lot, so Dad says he is a 'floor sausage.' The other morning, however, when Dad got up at abot 5 am, there he was up on the sofa! A couch potato! Now we are putting obstacles on the sofa at night because he is used to sleeping inside and and barks if he is outside. He may have a tumor in his voice box because he goes, "uh-BUFF! uh-BUFF!" instead of the usual.
Boss is a one year old doberman and Dawn spent a lot of time training him, He is a very smart and alert dog. He would probably fetch anything you might want to throw for him until he dropped dead! He is affectionate, good with strangers, obedient and learns fast. We are both enjoying him very much, and I am getting some exercise, even if it is just mostly my throwing arm. Molly and Precious have made the adjustment. Houston and Precious are great friends, and Boss and Molly have arrived at a truce. When Molly goes into heat in the next month or so, I think they will see each other in a different light. All the male dogs are neutered, but they still notice.
I think four dogs is a little much, especially since three of them are large, but it is nice that they all like to come and sleep in my office when I am working at the computer, and it is nice that they are all so excited to see us every morning, wagging their whole hind ends... We will probably add a bit of fence to the other side of the house so that we can keep them in the back when we have visitors who are not such dog lovers as we are.

No, Max was poisoned while we were in the States last summer. we were actually thinking we would get another doberman to replace him, and had decided to breed Molly instead to get a puppy. Now we won't be doing that!
