After years of hard work, Marylan finally graduated from Cagayan de Oro College with her degree in Elementary Education! It was our privilege to sponsor her for the last three years as she lived here with us as our 'working student.'

We were so pleased that her parents both came for the graduation! She was not expecting her Dad to come, because he is very shy. Her sister July, also came. They were all really happy and proud of Marylan.

We all went out for supper at a chicken barbeque place after the ceremony. The adults are at the far end of the table, and the girl next to Marylan is Judy Ann Tinaghanao. Judy Ann is almost 12 and is staying with us for most of the summer because her Lola, our long time friend Angga, is having surgery for breast cancer. Judy Ann loves it at our house and sharing a room with two godly grown up girls (Marylan and Riza) is just what she needs. Her parents have both taken up with new partners and left the kids with grandparents. Her other grandma's home is a dangerous place for girl like her, so we are really glad to have her with us. She lived with us before when she was just a baby.

Caryl's due date has come and gone... We are still waiting for this little guy to make his formal appearance. Please pray with us that the birth will be soon (like today!) and without complications. Caryl is holding up well, and while feeling impatient, is the picture of good health. Look at those ankles, not even a bit swollen! She and her husband walked about 3 miles last night. My friend Dra. Elena will deliver the baby.
