Shackeldorf Plaza Hotel, Part 1

We had Pastor Cezar and Neneing and their four kids here this last week, beginning on Wednesday. Cherry is 14, Naome is 12, Anna Grace is 8 and Christian is almost 7. They are a lively bunch! Chrisitan is a little scamp and into everything! We planned to give them a nice vacation and also talk about some of the issues mentioned in a previous post. They arrived Wednesday morning and we had prepared lunch for them. Then, the doorbell rang again and it was Boboy, Bebeng and two of their kids! They had been in Jampason, up the road, visiting Boboy's parents, and I think they had planned to spend the night, but the place was full up! They had lunch with all of us, and it was a good time of fellowship.

Boboy was fishing every night to bring in food for his family while visiting his folks, so we offered to give him some work here. They left that afternoon, but Boboy came back each day to install a sink, do some tile work and put a dog-discouraging fence around me nice little garden.

We took Pastor Cezar and family for a picnic at Seaside, taught them how to play chicken foot (dominoes), went up to SM Mall, Limketkai and we sat around a lot, but it was never the right time to talk about something serious. The trips to the malls were mostly to get parts for Boboy's work, but they Dollens enjoyed it and we bought ice creams. When they left on Friday night after supper, we both felt disappointed, but sure that the timing had not been right for what we planned. I did learn a couple important things. 1.) Pastor Greg is not renting out VCDs, it is his son, Chris. 2.) Jerry is the only other pastor who is renting out VCDs. Jerry is now the president of Bible Believers Mission (BBM) and Cezar is the vice-president. Cezar is no longer renting them out. So, at least we got some facts straightened out. We believe that the Lord gave us this time just to bless them and show them our love, and we were glad to do that!
