Nang Sarah's Wedding
Last Saturday, in the midst of all that was going on at the hospital, was Sarah's wedding. It was at 5 AM (yep, that's not a typo), at Seaside Bible Camp, the day before Easter. We were both godparents and also stand-in parents for the groom, whose parents are no longer living. We got up at 3:30 am and left the house an hour later. The proccedings began in moonlight, and the dawn was lovely. The cermony was in Cebunao and was very nice and it was followed by a brunch which began at 7:00 am. We (as the parents of the groom) had a little table all to ourselves. Sarah and Jaime are both forty years old, neither had married before, and they met texting by phone after an 'introduction' by Sarah's older sister, Ada. He is a new believer and a very nice, sincere guy. We really like him. They plan to live here in CDO, but Sarah will no longer be working at Seaside. We hope to spend some time with them. It is very special to us that Sarah chose us to be her husband's 'parents' after all the missionaries she has known over the years. That is a special blessing!
